Koraput: Sept 23 [UDN}:On the route to the famous Baba Gupteswar cave shrine in Koraput district, devotees encounter a unique spiritual and natural attraction known as “Bruksha Ganapati” or “Bruksha Binayak” (Tree Ganesha).
The main attraction of the site is a remarkable natural formation in which the trunk or root of a living tree has naturally taken a shape resembling Lord Ganesha’s trunk and form. Devotees regard this naturally formed figure as a swayambhu (self-manifested) representation of Lord Ganesha and worship it with deep faith and devotion.
For many devotees travelling to the Gupteswar cave to seek the blessings of Baba Gupteswar, the Tree Ganesha holds special significance. Before proceeding further on their pilgrimage, devotees stop at the site, offer prayers and worship Lord Ganesha, seeking blessings for a safe, peaceful and auspicious journey.
The unusual combination of nature, faith and local spiritual tradition makes Bruksha Binayak an interesting attraction for pilgrims and visitors travelling towards the Gupteswar shrine.
