Puri, Sept 2 [UDN}:A new queue-based darshan system is set to be introduced at the Sri Jagannath Temple within 3 to 4 months.
The new system is aimed at reducing overcrowding and making darshan more convenient for devotees.
Under the proposed arrangement, up to 10,000 devotees will be able to have darshan every hour.
Darshan will be streamlined through five ramps inside the temple.
The ramps will extend from the Garuda Stambha to the Bahara Katha area.
Around 50 devotees will be able to have darshan of Lord Jagannath simultaneously.
A pilot model is expected to be displayed within 8 to 10 days.
The new queue-darshan system is expected to become operational within 3 to 4 months.
The initiative is expected to bring a major change in the existing darshan arrangements at Sri Jagannath Temple.
The new system is being planned primarily to ensure greater convenience and smoother movement for devotees.
