Berhampur, Nov 5 (UDN): Vijay Amruta Kulange, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has been appointed as the new Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) of the Southern Division, headquartered at Berhampur, Odisha. The state government has assigned him this new administrative responsibility as part of its recent reshuffle of senior IAS officers.
Kulange had previously served as the Collector and District Magistrate of Ganjam district, where he was responsible for overseeing district-level administration, implementation of various government welfare schemes, revenue administration, developmental activities and coordination among different government departments. During his tenure as Ganjam Collector, he was associated with the district administration’s efforts to ensure the effective delivery of public services and implementation of government programmes.
With his appointment as the RDC of Berhampur, Kulange will now assume responsibility for the overall administrative supervision of the Southern Revenue Division. The RDC plays an important role in coordinating the functioning of district administrations, monitoring revenue-related matters, reviewing developmental programmes and ensuring the effective implementation of government policies across the division.
The office of the RDC, Southern Division, exercises supervisory and coordinating responsibilities over the districts falling under its jurisdiction. These responsibilities include reviewing administrative performance, monitoring revenue cases, addressing public grievances, coordinating disaster management activities and ensuring proper implementation of various state government initiatives.
The appointment of Vijay Amruta Kulange comes amid a major reshuffle of IAS officers undertaken by the Odisha government, involving changes in several important administrative positions. His new assignment is expected to bring him back to a significant administrative role in southern Odisha, where he had earlier served as the Ganjam District Collector.
Following the new appointment, Vijay Amruta Kulange will take charge as the Revenue Divisional Commissioner of the Southern Division at Berhampur and oversee important administrative and revenue-related responsibilities under the division.
