Newly Appointed Child Welfare Committee Chairpersons and Members Attend Orientation Training Programme to Enhance Their Knowledge and Responsibilities

Bhubaneswar, Aug 24 [UDN}:Committees (CWCs) at the State Institute for Women and Children. I had the privilege of participating in the programme as a guest alongside the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Smt. Prabhati Parida, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that the safety, dignity, well-being, and overall development of every child must be accorded the highest priority. She urged the newly appointed CWC Chairpersons and Members to discharge their responsibilities with utmost sensitivity, dedication, compassion, integrity, and a strong sense of accountability, ensuring that every child receives the care, protection, support, and opportunities they deserve.
She further stressed the importance of creating a safe, secure, and child-friendly environment, particularly for children who are vulnerable or in need of care and protection. The CWC members were encouraged to approach every case with empathy and responsibility, while ensuring that the rights and best interests of children remain at the centre of all decisions and interventions.
The orientation programme was aimed at strengthening the knowledge, capacity, and understanding of the newly appointed members regarding their roles and responsibilities in child protection and welfare. It also provided an important platform for sharing experiences, discussing challenges, and developing a coordinated approach towards ensuring effective implementation of child welfare and protection measures.
Senior officials of the Department of Women and Child Development, representatives of UNICEF, and the newly appointed Chairpersons and Members of various Child Welfare Committees were present at the programme.
