Bhubaneswar, July 8 (UDN): The Department of School and Mass Education, Odisha, will publish the first merit list for admission to Higher Secondary (+2) courses under the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) today at 11:45 AM.

Applicants can check their seat allotment status and download their intimation letters by logging into the SAMS Odisha Higher Secondary School Portal using their registration number and password.
According to official estimates, more than 1.5 lakh seats are likely to remain vacant across Higher Secondary schools in the state during the first phase of admissions. The vacancies are expected across different streams and institutions, particularly in rural and low-demand colleges.
Students whose names appear in the first merit list must report to their allotted institutions and complete the admission process between July 9 and July 15, 2026, by 6:00 PM. Admission will be confirmed only after document verification and payment of the prescribed fees within the stipulated deadline.
Candidates who are not allotted a seat in the first round or wish to be considered for a higher-preference institution can participate in the subsequent admission process. The second merit list is scheduled to be released on July 23, 2026.

- Visit the SAMS Odisha Higher Secondary School Portal.
- Select the Higher Secondary School (+2) admission section.
- Log in using your Registration Number and Password.
- View your seat allotment status and download the Intimation Letter for admission.
The first merit list marks the beginning of the state’s centralized +2 admission process for the 2026–27 academic session, covering admissions to government, aided, and unaided Higher Secondary schools across Odisha.
