Odisha Appoints 30 State Reviewers to Strengthen PM SHRI Schools Across Districts

Bhubaneswar, July 29 (UDN): In a major step towards improving the implementation of the PM SHRI (PM Schools for Rising India) Scheme, the Odisha School & Mass Education Department has appointed 30 senior education officials as State Reviewers to monitor and evaluate the performance of PM SHRI schools across all districts of the state.

The appointments are aimed at ensuring effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by transforming PM SHRI schools into model institutions that promote quality education, innovation, and holistic student development.

According to an official notification issued by the department, the designated State Reviewers will oversee the progress of schools based on 21 key saturation indicators, with a special focus on improving learning outcomes through both qualitative and quantitative assessments.

The department has assigned one senior official to each district for regular monitoring and evaluation. The appointments include:

Key Responsibilities

The appointed State Reviewers will conduct planned field visits to PM SHRI schools to assess infrastructure, classroom practices, student learning, implementation of NEP 2020 initiatives, and overall progress under the scheme.

Following each visit, they will submit detailed reports through the PM SHRI portal, highlighting achievements, innovative practices, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.

The department has also directed the State Project Director (SPD), OSEPA, to create reviewer profiles on the PM SHRI portal, assign schools for evaluation, and appoint a dedicated nodal officer to coordinate with the reviewers and facilitate smooth execution of the review process.

Strengthening School Education

The initiative is expected to enhance accountability, improve academic standards, and ensure the effective implementation of PM SHRI objectives across Odisha. By involving senior education administrators in regular monitoring, the government aims to develop PM SHRI schools as benchmark institutions that reflect the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and deliver better learning outcomes for students across the state.
