Bhubaneswar, Aug 18: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited flood-affected areas of Shyamasundarpur panchayat in Tihidi block of Bhadrak district to assess the situation and review relief and rescue operations.
During the visit, the Chief Minister met residents of nearby villages and spoke directly with families affected by the flooding. He took stock of the difficulties being faced by local communities and reviewed the assistance being provided by the administration.
Majhi’s visit comes as flood-affected areas continue to deal with the disruption caused by rising water levels and damage to normal life. The immediate priority remains ensuring that people have access to food, drinking water, medical assistance and other essential supplies.
The Chief Minister interacted with residents to understand their concerns and receive feedback on the relief measures being carried out on the ground. The visit also allowed officials to assess areas where additional assistance may be required.
District and local administration officials accompanied the Chief Minister and briefed him on the flood situation, relief activities and the needs of affected communities.
The government has emphasised the need for relief operations to remain focused on people living in vulnerable and low-lying areas, with timely assistance reaching families in need.
