Odisha Faces Fresh Rain Spell as IMD Warns of Heavy Showers and Thunderstorms

Bhubaneswar, July 28 (UDN): Odisha is likely to witness continued heavy rainfall and thunderstorms over the next few days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a red warning for four districts.

Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, and Sambalpur are expected to receive intense rainfall, along with thunderstorms and strong winds.

Several other districts have also been placed under orange and yellow alerts as the monsoon system remains active across the state.

Authorities have advised people to stay alert, follow safety guidelines, and avoid risky areas during thunderstorms. Farmers and fishermen have also been urged to take necessary precautions.

The IMD said rainfall activity may gradually reduce after July 30, but weather conditions are likely to remain unsettled in parts of Odisha until August 2.
