Bhubaneswar, July 30 (UDN): Flood conditions in Odisha have become increasingly challenging as heavy rainfall and rising river levels continue to impact communities across six northern districts. More than 2 lakh people have been affected, while three lives, including that of a fire service personnel, have been lost during the ongoing flood situation.
Several villages have been submerged as swollen rivers overflowed their banks, leaving around 266 villages affected and disrupting normal life for thousands of residents. Floodwaters have damaged roads, affected connectivity, and forced many families to seek assistance as water levels continue to remain a concern.
District administrations and emergency response teams have stepped up rescue and relief operations, focusing on evacuating stranded residents, providing essential supplies, and ensuring support reaches the most vulnerable communities. Officials are closely monitoring river conditions and coordinating efforts to manage the impact of the flooding.
Authorities are working to restore essential services and improve access to affected areas while continuing relief activities on the ground. Residents in vulnerable locations have been advised to remain alert and follow safety guidelines as weather conditions and water levels are being monitored.
