Bhubaneswar, Sept 23 [UDN}:A tragic accident in Madhya Pradesh has claimed the lives of eight people, including seven members of the same Odia family, leaving their relatives and the wider community in deep shock and grief.
Following the incident, an Odisha government team has held discussions with the bereaved families and taken stock of the situation. The Odisha government has also been in communication with the Madhya Pradesh government regarding the accident and arrangements for the victims.
According to the latest information, efforts are underway to retrieve the bodies from the accident site, with the process expected to begin shortly. Odisha officials are coordinating with the authorities in Madhya Pradesh to ensure that the necessary procedures are completed and that the mortal remains can be handed over to the families.
Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced financial assistance of ₹5 lakh for each deceased person’s family. Thus, the families of all eight victims will be eligible for assistance of ₹5 lakh each from the Odisha government.
The Chief Minister expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed to Lord Jagannath for strength for the family members during this difficult time. He also prayed that such a tragic incident would never befall anyone in the future.
The Odisha government is continuing to coordinate with the Madhya Pradesh authorities and the affected families regarding the recovery and transportation of the deceased.
