Odisha Government Launches Statewide “Child Labour Free Odisha Campaign” to Eliminate Child Exploitation and Protect Children’s Rights

Keonjhar:May 12: The state-level “Child Labour Free Odisha Campaign” was formally launched at the Darbar Conference Hall in Keonjhar district under the aegis of the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights.
The programme was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister of Labour, Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, who attended as the chief guest.
In his address, the Minister emphasized the goal of making Odisha free from child labour and illegal child trafficking. He stressed the need for strong coordination among all departments to ensure child protection. He also stated that strict action should be taken against individuals involved in trafficking or acting as intermediaries in sending child labourers to other states.
He further underlined that protecting children and ensuring their safety is a collective responsibility of society, and all stakeholders must remain alert and proactive in this regard.
On this occasion, MLA Fakir Mohan Nayak, Labour Commissioner, District Collector, District Labour Officer, and members of the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, including Kasturi Mishra, Sujata Nayak, Manasmita Khuntia, and Kalpana Lenka, were present along with other departmental officials.
Senior officers from various departments of the district also attended the programme and extended their support for the successful implementation of the campaign.
