Odisha Intensifies Coordinated Action Against Drugs with Focus on Prevention, Awareness, Enforcement and Rehabilitation

Bhubaneswar,  Oct 3 [UDN}:  Odisha is taking an integrated approach towards building a drug-free state, with a focus on prevention, public awareness, rehabilitation and strict legal enforcement against substance abuse.

Chief Secretary Smt. Anu Garg reviewed the progress of various initiatives under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, along with measures for preventing drug abuse, creating public awareness, providing rehabilitation support and strengthening enforcement of relevant laws.

During the review, emphasis was laid on greater participation of young people in the campaign, as well as on skill development and alternative livelihood opportunities to help vulnerable sections stay away from substance abuse.

The Chief Secretary stressed the need for coordinated efforts among different departments and agencies to strengthen preventive measures and ensure effective implementation of anti-drug initiatives across the state.

The integrated approach aims to address substance abuse not only through enforcement but also through awareness, rehabilitation, youth engagement, skill development and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
