Bhubaneswar,May 27: The President of India will confer the first phase of the Padma Shri Awards. From Odisha, renowned linguist and educationist Dr. Mahendra Mishra will be honored with the Padma Shri award.
Dr. Mishra has dedicated more than four decades to preserving endangered tribal languages and integrating them into the modern education system. He has earned global recognition for giving voice to the indigenous knowledge systems embedded within India’s tribal and rural communities.
Three other Padma Shri awardees from Odisha will receive the honor from the President in the subsequent phase. Simanchal Patra in the field of art, master weaver Sharat Kumar Patra, and writer-educationist Charan Hembrom will also be honored with the Padma Shri award.
