Kotpad, April 17: The birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar was celebrated in Kotpad by the Ambedkar Jayanti Committee.
On this occasion, members of the committee and guests paid floral tributes to Ambedkar’s statue near the Gadi Mayi Temple. Speakers highlighted his life, ideals, and immense contribution to the Constitution and social justice.
NAC Chairman Shankar Rao and Press Club President Pankaj Kumar Patra attended as chief guests, while Gopabandhu Library President Ganesh Chandra Panda joined as an honored guest. They spoke about Ambedkar’s personality and his role in shaping modern India.
The program was presided over by Committee President and Desia newspaper editor Ranjan Mahuria. Several members including Jagabandhu Dholia, Purna Samrath, Rustam Majhi, Rajani Nayak, and Jisudan Garada, along with many others, participated and offered श्रद्धांजलि.
Similarly, the Bharatiya Janata Party also observed Ambedkar Jayanti in Kotpad. MLA Rupu Bhatra attended as chief guest, along with leaders like Chandra Sekhar Das, Pradeep Rath, Biswa Tripathy, Suren Mohanty, and Chandradhwaj Mangali, who paid tributes on the occasion.
