Jajpur , May 19: During his visit to Jajpur, Rabi Narayan Naik inspected the Dasarathpur Mega Drinking Water Project located on the banks of the Baitarani River and reviewed its actual condition. He stated that development cannot be achieved merely by spending crores of rupees on constructing buildings and infrastructure; the Dasarathpur project is a glaring example of this.
According to his allegations, the previous leadership had initiated the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) project without properly assessing the actual water source and conducting the necessary technical evaluation. As a result, the project is now lying defunct, and the local people are being deprived of clean drinking water.
He further said that the people’s government will not ignore public problems. After discussions with departmental officials, the technical issues of the project have been identified, and permanent measures will soon be taken to ensure the supply of clean and purified drinking water to Dasarathpur and nearby areas.
