Puri, July 9 (UDN): The ongoing discussion over the observance of Rath Yatra and Snana Yatra festivals outside the traditional schedule has intensified after the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) rejected an appeal made by Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb.
The Puri Gajapati had appealed to ISKCON to follow the traditional timing and established practices associated with the sacred festivals. However, ISKCON has declined the request, maintaining its position on conducting the events according to its own schedule.
The issue has drawn attention among devotees and religious communities, as the Rath Yatra and Snana Yatra hold deep spiritual and cultural significance, particularly in connection with the traditions of Lord Jagannath of Puri.
The disagreement has sparked discussions over the importance of preserving age-old rituals and maintaining uniformity in the observance of these major religious festivals.
As the matter continues to attract public attention, devotees and stakeholders are closely watching for further developments and possible dialogue between the concerned parties to address the concerns surrounding the festival traditions.
