Bargarh: Sept 1 [UDN}:In a heartening gesture of support for meritorious students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, the charitable organisation FEED Trust of Bargarh has extended financial assistance to a young student who has successfully qualified for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
Smita Rani Bag, a meritorious student from Karimunda village under Gaisilet Block in Bargarh district, has secured success in the NEET examination and has been selected for admission to the MBBS course at Bhima Bhoi Government Medical College and Hospital in Balangir. Her achievement has brought immense pride to her family and the local community.
Smita Rani is the daughter of Radhakanta Bag and Riti Bag of Karimunda village. Her father works as a bus driver, and the family’s limited income made it difficult for them to arrange the expenses required for her medical admission. Despite the financial challenges, Smita Rani remained focused on her studies and succeeded in clearing the highly competitive NEET examination.
When the family learned about the assistance provided by FEED Trust, they approached the organisation seeking support. Understanding the family’s financial circumstances and the importance of helping a talented student pursue medical education, the Trust decided to extend financial assistance.
Under the leadership of Trust Chairman Phanindra Kumar Tandi, a team comprising Krishna Suna, Harihar Bibhara, Laxman Chhuria, Gaur Kandha, Manoj Mahananda, Pramod Kumbhar, Padmabati Kumbhar, Dasharath Bag, Ashok Kaleta, Salman Deep, Rabindra Deep and others visited Karimunda village.
During the visit, the Trust handed over a cheque of ₹30,000 to Smita Rani to help meet the expenses related to her admission to the medical course. The assistance is expected to provide significant relief to her family at a crucial stage of her educational journey.
The Trust team also felicitated Bal Bag, a renowned Dhulia artist from Karimunda village, known for his contribution to the traditional cultural heritage of western Odisha. He was honoured with a bouquet and uttariya as a mark of appreciation.
The initiative taken by FEED Trust to support economically disadvantaged yet meritorious students pursuing higher education has been widely appreciated by intellectuals and well-wishers. The financial assistance has given Smita Rani and her family renewed confidence as she begins her journey toward fulfilling her dream of becoming a doctor.
Smita Rani’s success is also an inspiring example of how determination, academic excellence and timely community support can help talented students overcome financial barriers and pursue their aspirations.
