Papadahandi, June 9: The famous and traditional Ghanta Yatra of Budhi Thakurani at Papadahandi in Nabarangpur district was celebrated peacefully amid huge public participation and a spiritual atmosphere.
During the nine-day-long festival, the Goddess visited several villages in the local area, including Dishariguda, Dalaiguda, Dhamanapadar, Pradhaniguda, Sunadangari, Ghatguda, Dalachhapar, Chhatrabar, and Tandaguda. On the ninth day, after completing a procession around Papadahandi village, the Goddess returned to her sister’s house.
On this occasion, a grand procession moved towards Majhiguda, in which the sacred ceremonial pot of the Goddess, along with traditional “Debalathi” and “Gadi” groups from nearby areas, participated.
For the entertainment of devotees, melody programs and regional drama performances were organized at the Bus Stand Square. Traditional tribal dance-dramas were also presented at Dalaiguda, Majhiguda, Tandaguda, Ghatguda, and Sunadangari.
The entire event was successfully conducted with the active cooperation of Yatra Committee President Gupteshwar Pattanayak, Rajesh Nayak, Upendra Pradhan, and all committee members.
