Tree Plantation Campaign Organised in Puri to Encourage Community Participation in Nature Conservation

Puri, Sept 17 [UDN}:Odisha Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling participated in a tree plantation programme at Lok Bhavan in Puri in the presence of Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati and Member of Parliament Dr. Sambit Patra.

The plantation drive was organised as part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (One Tree in the Name of Mother) campaign, launched following the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to encourage people across the country to contribute to environmental protection through tree plantation.

The campaign aims to promote greater awareness about the importance of trees, protect the environment and encourage citizens to actively participate in creating a greener and healthier future. What began as an environmental initiative has gradually developed into a broad-based people’s movement, with citizens, public representatives and organisations joining plantation activities across the country.

The participation of the Governor, Health Minister and MP in the plantation programme in Puri further highlighted the importance of collective public action for environmental conservation. The initiative also sends a message about the need to protect nature and increase green cover for future generations.
