Sambalpur, June 30 (UDN): Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday carried out simultaneous searches at properties linked to two officials of the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla, in connection with separate disproportionate assets (DA) investigations.
Acting on search warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Judge, Sambalpur, officials searched four locations associated with Dhanurdhar Biswal, Establishment Officer at VIMSAR. During the raids, Vigilance teams detected a two-storey residential building at Dhanakauda, around 20 plots on the outskirts of Sambalpur, a Hyva truck, two tractors, gold ornaments, and a substantial amount of cash. The value of the assets is currently being assessed.
In a parallel operation, searches were conducted at five locations linked to Ashwini Meher, Steward in the Office of the Superintendent, VIMSAR, Burla, to verify his movable and immovable assets in another DA case.
The operations were carried out by teams comprising five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), five Inspectors, three Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and supporting staff. Vigilance officials said the searches and verification process are continuing, and the total value of the assets will be determined after completion of the investigation.
