1st March 2025: A survey by Odisha’s Commerce and Transport department reveals that 59% of vehicles in the state are uninsured, posing financial and legal risks.
The department is working on reforms to streamline insurance claim processes, including introducing e-DAR, a digital platform for faster claims. Five insurance companies have been partnered with the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation to improve accessibility. Officials urge vehicle owners to renew insurance policies promptly to avoid issues.
