Puri, 1st March: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and Odisha’s Food Safety Department organized a one-day food safety training for street food vendors at Shri Geetagobinda Auditorium, Puri.

Over 800 vendors participated in the session, covering essential topics like hygiene, food handling, cooking practices, waste management, and compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act. Special focus was given to licensing and registration guidelines.
The training is part of FSSAI’s ongoing efforts through its Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) program, which has already trained over 22 lakh food handlers across India. This initiative aims to ensure safe, hygienic food for the public.
