5th March 2025: The Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) recently wrapped up a 21-day winter school on “Modern Techniques for Clinical Management of Ophthalmic Affections in Animals.” Sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the program aimed to enhance veterinary ophthalmology skills.
Twenty-three students from various states participated in the training, which included practical exposure at Nandankanan Zoo, where they observed glaucoma treatment in a lion.
Dr. Jayakrushna Das, head of the department, emphasized the importance of such training for equipping students with advanced techniques in animal eye care. The program featured lectures from senior veterinarians and virtual sessions from experts across the country and Bahrain, providing students with valuable knowledge for future advancements in the field.
