31st March 2025: To address the ongoing heatwave, the Food and Civil Supplies Department has adjusted the ration distribution schedule to make it easier for beneficiaries to access essential food items.
Rations will now be available in two shifts: from 7 AM to 10 AM and then from 5 PM to 10 PM. This change is aimed at helping people avoid the hottest parts of the day.
Moreover, water and ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) will be provided at the distribution centers, especially for workers handling the process. Government-run fair-price shops will also follow this updated schedule to ensure that the distribution is smooth and timely.
These changes reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring that everyone, especially the vulnerable, can access food and stay safe in the summer heat.
