New Delhi, June 12: The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has recommended R. Doraiswamy for the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).
Doraiswamy is expected to succeed Siddhartha Mohanty, whose term as CEO concludes this month. In the interim, Satpal Bhano was appointed to oversee the company’s internal operations.
According to sources, four candidates were interviewed for the top post before Doraiswamy was shortlisted. His appointment is subject to final approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
Once confirmed, Doraiswamy will take the helm of LIC, the country’s largest life insurer, at a crucial time as the organization continues its digital and structural transformation.
