Discussion Held in Malkangiri on Safeguarding Rights of Minor Girls

Malkangiri, 8th Aug 2025: A discussion forum on the protection and justice for minor girls was organized at the District Court premises under the supervision of District Judge Dr. Prasanna Kumar Panda. The event focused on the various problems faced by minor girls and the issues surrounding their safety.

During the session, Dr. Durgaprasad Raj and advocate Durgaprasad Tripathy spoke about legal challenges related to the protection, education, health, and social security of girls within the juvenile justice framework. District Child Protection Officer Narayan Das highlighted issues that minor girls face through virtual media.

Additional District Collector Bedabar Pradhan, ASP Rashmiranjan Senapati, advocates Ashok Kumar Pattnaik and Bijay Kumar Mohanty also participated and shared their views.

District Judge Dr. Panda emphasized the urgent need to create a safe and secure environment for girls in society. He also stressed the importance of fostering a positive mindset and respectful behavior towards women.

Among others present were the Additional District Education Officer, Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee, officials from the judicial department, members of the Bar Association, members of the Juvenile Justice Board, representatives of the NGO “Paribartan,” and various departmental staff.
