Bhubaneswar,14th Aug 2025: Inefficient officers and employees will be retired from service, as the state government has taken a strict stance on the matter. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja had earlier issued instructions to all departments in this regard. Now, all departments have been directed to submit details of the action taken by August 7.
The directive to submit reports was given to every department yesterday, following a July 15 secretary-level meeting at the Lok Seva Bhawan conference hall chaired by Chief Secretary Ahuja. In that meeting, he instructed strict action against officers and staff neglecting their duties. Departments were told to enforce compulsory retirement for employees and officers who consistently underperform or violate work discipline.
The government is now seeking reports from all departments on the extent of compliance with this directive. Additionally, the Chief Secretary stressed the importance of employees reporting to the office on time, remaining there for the entire working day, and fulfilling their duties diligently.
