Bhubaneswar, 22nd Aug 2025:A meeting was held by the School and Mass Education Department to discuss regularization of primary teacher appointments and proper administrative arrangements. Following this, a letter was issued on August 2 proposing schematic appointments for teachers.
However, a subsequent departmental letter withdrawing this proposal has caused concern among primary school teachers appointed under the schematic system. They are now demanding that the August 2 proposal be implemented immediately.
The teachers have submitted a memorandum to all district collectors, urging action in line with the Chief Minister’s objectives. They have also issued a warning that if the matter is not resolved within the next seven days, they will escalate the issue to PMG/Prime Minister’s grievance mechanism.
Additionally, the teachers have announced that they will go on leave as part of their protest if their demands are not met.
