Government Clarifies: Anganwadi Centres Cannot All Be Shifted to Schools

Bhubaneswar, 8th Sept 2025: Response from the School and Mass Education Minister regarding the merging of Anganwadi centers with schools. “Shishu Vatika 3 has been merged with schools.” “Shishu Vatika 1 and 2 are still functioning in Anganwadi centers.” “It is currently not possible to close all Anganwadi centers and merge them with schools.” “Children will be enrolled in Shishu Vatika 3 after the age of 5.” “Shishu Vatika 3 has been started in 45,000 schools.” “Shishu Vatika 1 and 2 will be merged in future if further instructions are received.”
