MP Honors Two Malkangiri Teachers in Delhi Ceremony

Malkangiri, 9th Sept 2025: Two teachers from Odisha, who recently received the National Teachers’ Award, were honored by Member of Parliament Balaram Majhi at his residence in Delhi.

The award-winning educators are:

Basant Kumar Rana, a teacher at Kandhel Government Upper Primary School in Korkunda block, Malkangiri district.

Tarun Kumar Dash, a teacher at the PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya in Koraput district.

MP Shri Majhi praised both teachers, stating that their efforts to promote education in the tribal-dominated, underdeveloped region of undivided Koraput have helped dispel the darkness of ignorance and spread the light of knowledge. He called them a matter of pride for Odisha.

He further added that the nation now recognizes their dedicated contributions to strengthening the education sector, and that their noteworthy work serves as an inspiration for all. Wishing them continued success, the MP personally felicitated both educators.

It is worth noting that both Shri Rana and Shri Dash were recently honored with the National Teachers’ Award by President Droupadi Murmu for their outstanding work in promoting education in tribal areas. After learning about their achievement, MP Shri Majhi invited them to his residence in Delhi and honored them in person.
