Nabarangpur,13th Oct 2025: : A meeting and legal awareness camp were organized on the occasion of World Mental Health Day at the District Headquarters Hospital conference hall in Nabarangpur. This program was conducted jointly by the District Legal Services Authority, Nabarangpur, and the District Health Committee, Nabarangpur.
The event was held under the direction of the District Legal Services Authority Chairperson, Sri Subrata Mahanti. The chief guest at the meeting was the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Nabarangpur, Mrs. Shashwata Mishra. The meeting was attended by the District Chief Medical Officer Dr. Santosh Bhuma Panda, Dr. N. Ravi Babu, Tatpara Samalai Prasad Panda, Shri Shabda Acharya, D.I.P.R. Manol Kumar Behera, D.P.M. (N.A.T.M) Nabarangpur, Shri Raj Kishore Nag, Deputy Chief Counsel and Assistant Legal Advisor, Nabarangpur, Mrs. Visheri Pattnayak, Legal Aid Advisor, Nabarangpur, Mrs. Rakhi Jain, Assistant Legal Aid Advisor, Nabarangpur, and Miss Sushree Samyak Nanda, Clinical Psychologist, Nabarangpur.
Initially, District Chief Medical Officer Dr. Santosh Kumar Panda spoke about the causes, prevention, and treatment of mental illnesses on the occasion of World Mental Health Day. He informed everyone about free medicine distribution and assistance for persons with intellectual disabilities.
Through the Health Department’s M.B.P.T. program, the symptoms, prevention, and treatment of mental illness at home were clearly explained. The chief guest raised awareness about mental illness patients and various legal issues.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on regular communication, physical exercise, spirituality, adequate sleep, group and family cooperation to maintain good mental health, and efforts to overcome depression and helplessness.
At the end, the District Hospital’s District Executive Director, Shri Shankar Acharya, expressed his gratitude.
This program was jointly organized by the District Legal Services Authority, Nabarangpur, and the District Headquarters Hospital, Nabarangpur.
