Bhubaneswar, 31st Oct 2025: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will bring SOPs for 20 major markets, and all shopkeepers will be covered under group insurance, announced Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das. The announcement was made in the presence of BMC officials.
Market committees will be elected, strict enforcement will be ensured in the markets, and shopkeepers will not be allowed to evade rules. Additionally, shopkeepers will not be permitted to extend their businesses onto the roads, the Mayor stated.
