Nandapur, 4th Nov 2025:  The Ministry of Railways has approved the constr uction of six pusking bridges on the Visakhapatnam–Kirandul connecting railway between Andhra Pradesh’s Gorapur and Koraput Putmanabar stations.

According to information, due to a lack of roads on the KK railway, several villagers in the Nandapur and Lamtaput blocks were deprived of basic government facilities. The local population had been demanding the construction of pusking bridges. The hardships faced by villagers in Darliput, Padua, and Paliba had frequently been highlighted in the media.

The Railway Ministry has approved the construction of 92 pusking bridges across different railway sections of the state, including Lamtaput–Nandapur. Among them, the following six bridges will be constructed between Gorapur Darliput station and Putmanabar station:

  • Near Poll No. 121, Narigaon
  • Near Poll No. 126, close to railway station
  • Near Poll No. 133, Padua village
  • Near Poll No. 171, Paliba market
  • Near Poll No. 181, Suku village
  • Near Poll No. 199, close to Manabar station

These six bridges will impact 13 villages, with Darliput being the most critical location. The construction process of the Darliput pusking bridge is scheduled to start first, according to Railway engineer Govind Babu.

Previously, pusking bridges were constructed through joint funding by the Railway Department and the State Government. However, following a request from the State Government, the Railway Department will now fund and execute all projects independently, as confirmed by KK Railway ADE (Project) Rajendra Jandra Prasad.

Villagers from Darliput, Padua, Lamtaput (Nandapur block) and Suku and Manabar (Koraput block) have expressed their happiness and gratitude.

The approval brings relief to local communities of Narigaon, Koraput, and Paliba.
