Key Issues Discussed at Crucial Meeting of Unassessed Employees Committee

Koraput, Nov 28:  An important meeting of the Odisha State Unassessed Employees Coordination Committee, Koraput District Branch was held at Jaipur Yadav Bhavan. The meeting was convened under the leadership of Shashibhushan Dash, President of the Koraput District Branch. Over a hundred unassessed employees from various departments participated.

During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the various pending demands of the employees. Earlier, a memorandum had been submitted to the Koraput District Education Officer seeking fulfillment of 10 demands of employees working in the Education Department. Dash highlighted that the directives of the government were not being strictly followed.

According to Odisha Government and the School and Mass Education Department guidelines, at least two teachers should be appointed in each school, but in many schools in Koraput district, there is only one teacher, causing excessive workload for the teaching staff.

Employees who applied for transfers due to health issues have not had their requests considered. Even those teachers who were sent for transfers have not been formally posted to the schools they were transferred to, as per government orders.

Dash also emphasized the need for compassionate appointments and the promotion of fourth-grade employees to junior assistant positions, as mentioned in the memorandum, drawing the attention of the Koraput District Education Officer.

The employees also discussed these issues with the State Director of Primary Education to ensure appropriate actions are taken. It was decided that a gathering will be organized in Jaipur on 23rd November, and employees present at the meeting expressed their support for this initiative.

The meeting was attended by editors and senior members including Maheshwar Mishra, Kiran Maharana, Sridhar Mahapatra, Ajay Kumar Pradhan, Kiran Kumar Kandhapan, Mandia Subas, Narasingh Sabat, along with many other employees from different departments.
