Phulbani, Dec, 08: The International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025 was observed at the Gandhi Smruti Bhavan in Phulbani. Additional District Magistrate Kushal Chandra Naik attended the event as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests included Dr. Akshaya Kumar Sahu, Additional District Medical and Public Health Officer; Bikhari Sahu, Sub-Collector of Phulbani; Rajesh Kumar Swain, District Education Officer; and Soumyaranjan Patra, Group Development Officer of Phulbani. Also present were Raj Kishore Digal, President of the Odisha Vikalaṅga Mancha, and Ajay Muthamajhi, Secretary of the Kandhamal district branch of the Disabled Forum.
Students of the Banabasi Seva Samiti presented the invocation song, followed by various impressive cultural performances by persons with disabilities.
During the event, distinguished individuals with disabilities who brought glory to the district were honored by the guests. Assistance amounts and allowances were also distributed to eligible beneficiaries.
District Social Security Officer P. Padma conducted the program and delivered the welcome address, while Rabindra Kumar Panda, Secretary of Banabasi Seva Samiti, proposed the vote of thanks.
Various departmental officials, NGO representatives, students, beneficiaries, members of the public, and media personnel participated in the event.
