Umarkot, Jan, 07:: The school-level PM Shri festival was organized at PM Shri Government Advanced High School, Umarkot. The event saw participation from 15 dance troupes.
The festival was inaugurated under the presidency of Principal Naresh Chandra Pattnayak, with the District Education Officer Chhatrapati Sahu as the chief guest. Key speakers included Additional District Education Officer Prakash Chandra Mahalik, Chittaranjan Pattnayak, and School Management Committee President Ghasia Pujari.
Students showcased various projects and exhibits on themes like Smart Village, Future Classrooms, Energy Efficiency, and other innovative topics. Alongside these, the festival included literary creativity, inquisitiveness, sports, and skill club projects.
A student-run market was also opened during the festival, where students sold items worth around 3,000 rupees.
The event was chaired by Education Officer Ishwar Chandra Majhi, and key guests included Education and Public Instruction Minister Nityananda Gand, MP Representative Ram Nayak, Block Chairperson Sushila Majhi, Zilla Parishad Member Chandan Ray, Social Worker Ramesh Sahu, and other local leaders. They expressed the aim and purpose of the PM Shri festival, emphasizing that the future of the country lies in the hands of children.
Students who excelled in various competitions were awarded trophies and certificates. A play on women empowerment was performed by the students, and the program was conducted under the supervision of teacher Chandana Mallika and Principal Naresh Chandra Pattnayak.
The event was coordinated by teachers Narendra Harijan, Sachidananda Mahapatra, Uttam Das, Karunakara Majhi, Shivashankar Pati, Sudhanshu Shekhar Sahu, Sagarika Bedi, Karunakara Majhi, Nikhola Chandra Biswas, Pradeep Raut, along with other members of the management committee.
