Rayagada, Jan, 21: The General Council meeting of Rayagada District Media Cares was held today. The meeting was organized at the local Biju Patnaik Kalyan Mandap, where around 200 journalists working across all 11 blocks and three urban areas of the district participated.
The State President of Media Cares, Bhakta Tripathy, attended the program as the chief guest. Senior journalists from across the state, including Shubhadarshini Mishra, Ranjan Kumar Das, Narayan Sahu, Sameer Acharya, Balaji Sahu, Bhawani Mishra, Rajendra Kumar Das, Satyajit Mahanti, Pabitra Mohan Sethi, and Uttam Nayak, were also present.
Members of Media Cares from various districts of the state were felicitated on this occasion. SOA Public Relations Officer Shubhadarshini Mishra spoke about the importance of health protection for journalists. Information was also shared about the services and support extended by the SOA management.
District President Badal Kumar chaired the meeting and delivered the welcome address. He informed the gathering about the various steps taken by the organization for the welfare of journalists in the district and outlined upcoming programs.
General Secretary Ranjan Kumar Rath presented the editorial report and explained how assistance had been provided to journalists during the COVID-19 period.
On this occasion, State President Bhakta Tripathy spoke about the formation of Media Cares and stated that the organization was conceptualized during the COVID pandemic and is now active in all districts of the state. He also explained how SUM Hospital has been supporting journalists from the pandemic period to the present. He expressed gratitude to SOA Managing Director Manoj Ranjan Nayak for his continued cooperation. He advised journalists to opt for group insurance for their security.
Senior member Rashmi Ranjan Dora conducted the proceedings of the meeting, while Gopa Ranjan Baxipatra delivered the vote of thanks.
