Production of All Tobacco, Nicotine Items Prohibited Across the State

Bhubaneswar,  Jan, 24:The State Government has banned the production of all tobacco and nicotine products.
The prohibition has been imposed in the interest of public safety, following the directions of the Supreme Court.
Gutkha, pan masala, zarda, khaini, and other nicotine-containing products have been banned.
The ban applies to production, processing, packaging, storage, transportation, and sale of these products.
The action has been taken in accordance with the guidelines of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
The prohibition order has been issued by the State Health and Family Welfare Department.
The State Government has enforced the ban in the larger interest of public health.
Citizens have been urged to cooperate in building a healthy and tobacco-free Odisha.
Consumption of tobacco and nicotine leads to serious diseases such as cancer.
Tobacco and nicotine are extremely harmful to the health of children and youth.
