Malkangiri, Feb, 4: A farewell felicitation was accorded to teacher Haripriya Padhi at Chitapari–4 Government Primary School under Korukonda Block Education Department of Malkangiri district. The farewell was organized jointly by the school authorities and the villagers.
Mrs. Padhi had been serving as a teacher in the school for more than two years, imparting education to the students. Owing to her unique teaching style, many children who were previously reluctant began attending school regularly.
On the occasion of her transfer, the villagers escorted her to the school in a grand manner, playing traditional musical instruments and performing Dhemba dance while taking her in a procession around the entire village. Being very friendly and benevolent by nature, she had become a beloved figure among the villagers.
A general meeting was organized on this occasion. Block Education Officer Asit Mistry attended as the chief guest. Among others present were teacher Nandini Tripathy, teacher Ranjan Kumar Panda, CRCC Bhagaban Sahu, SMC President Madhab Khul, Ward Member Prahlad Petia, teacher Pratima Nayak, teacher Kalyani Swain, teacher Rajashree Gouda and others. Teacher Shishir Kumar Khosla conducted the program.
Mrs. Padhi was honored with gifts and bouquets by the school and the villagers. The guests present shared their experiences and spoke about her tenure and contributions. Headmaster Bhima Khul managed the overall program, with cooperation from other teachers of the school.
