Paparahandi.Feb, 20: On the occasion of the holy Shivaratri festival, a large gathering of devotees was seen at the famous Neelakantheswar Temple in Paparahandi.
Rituals of Lord Shiva began early in the morning, after which devotees were allowed to enter for darshan. The पूजा rituals were conducted under the supervision of chief priest Shivaprasad Tripathy, with priests Hari Tripathy and Neelakantheswar Tripathy performing the ceremonial worship.
Temple management committee president and Tahasildar Tapan Nayak was present and supervised the darshan arrangements, while police personnel handled security duties. Members of the Rajmistri association distributed pana (a traditional drink) and drinking water among devotees.
A heavy crowd gathered at night for the Mahadeep darshan. With Basi Shivaratri scheduled for the next day, many temporary stalls and vendors have set up shops around the temple area.
