Malkangiri , Feb, 25: In the Odisha Budget, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced allocation of funds for the establishment of an Ayurvedic College in Malkangiri district. The people of the district have warmly welcomed this announcement.
At Mathili, BJP functionaries including Mathili Block Chairman Mahesh Kumar Baka, MP representative Banamali Baral, District Vice-President Ashok Charki, Pangam Mandal President Laxman Bankia, VBI Ramji Coordinator Srikant Choudhury, along with other BJP leaders and workers, were present. Welcoming the Chief Minister’s announcement, they took out a celebratory procession across the town with drumbeats.
However, members of the Citizens’ Security Forum and intellectuals criticized the government, stating that although more than ₹10 crore had been spent over the past 10 years for construction of a B.Ed. college in Malkangiri সদর subdivision, it has still not become operational. They also alleged that the Chief Minister did not address this issue in the current budget, which reflects continued neglect of the district in the field of higher education.
