Bhubaneswar, Feb, 26: The first phase of the Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly has concluded. Due to repeated disruptions, it became difficult to run the Question Hour smoothly.
After the session ended, the Chief Minister criticized the Opposition, alleging that instead of playing a constructive role, they are indulging in petty politics in the name of farmers. He stated that the State Government has presented a strong and progressive budget aimed at building a prosperous Odisha. However, when key financial documents and proposals were introduced in the House, the Opposition created disturbances and stalled proceedings.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the state budget focuses on economic growth, infrastructure expansion, agricultural development, and welfare measures. He emphasized that Odisha’s growth rate remains among the leading states in the country and that the government is committed to inclusive development.
He further stated that the government will resolve all public issues and continue working through mission-mode initiatives to simplify governance and improve service delivery. Special focus has been given to irrigation, rural development, infrastructure, and healthcare expansion.
The budget reportedly includes provisions for the establishment of new medical colleges in Gajapati, Malkangiri, and Nuapada, along with significant investments in riverfront development and other infrastructure projects.
