Subhadra Shakti Mela to Be Held Feb 25–March 3, Says District Collector

Nabarangpur, Feb, 26:  The Subhadra Shakti Mela will be held at the police ground of Nabarangpur district headquarters from February 25, 2026, to March 3, 2026.

On this occasion, District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain addressed a press conference at the District Parishad Conference Hall and provided details about the organization of the mela, various programs, and related arrangements.

According to the information shared, the mela will feature 120 stalls, where Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) from within and outside the district will display and sell their products. Separate food stalls managed by SHGs will also participate. It is expected that business worth around ₹5 crore will be generated through SHGs and other stalls during the mela.

The inauguration ceremony will be attended by the Hon’ble Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, the Hon’ble Minister of School and Mass Education, as well as Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly as guests.

From February 26 to March 3, 2026, special panel discussions will be organized daily at 11:00 AM on topics such as women empowerment, women entrepreneurship, Lakhpati Didi, the role of women in health and sanitation, gender equality, and women’s legal rights.

Every evening from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, cultural programs will be presented by 28 cultural troupes from the district. In addition, renowned artists and cultural groups from Sambalpur, Balangir, Kalahandi, and Sonepur will participate in the cultural performances.

On February 25 at 3:00 PM, a ceremonial Kalash Yatra will be organized from the Maa Bhandar Gharani Temple to the police ground, accompanied by various cultural troupes.

Comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure law and order, traffic control, sanitation, drinking water, fire safety, first aid services, and food and accommodation facilities for artists and members of Self-Help Groups.
