Nabarangpur, Feb, 27: A new modern Atal bus stand with a distinctive 4-floor design will be constructed in Nabarangpur town at a cost of Rs50 crore. The tender process for this project has been completed.
The municipal authority has leased out the stalls to interested parties under contract after verification. The bus stand will have 98 stalls spread across three levels.

Key Details:

The new bus stand will feature 4 floors with 98 stalls.
The current partially constructed bus stand, which is in a dilapidated condition, will be demolished. The project will be executed by the Odisha Police Housing Board.
A significant meeting regarding the project was held under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain.

All existing stall owners from the current bus stand will be allocated stalls in the new bus stand. Previously, there were 84 stalls of 10/12 size and broader stalls. For shopkeepers operating in large stalls, arrangements will be made to provide one stall per two current large stalls, according to the District Collector.
The municipal executive officer, Dr. Ashok Kumar Karn, has been instructed by the District Collector to issue a formal resolution regarding the allocation.

Facilities in the new bus stand:

Shops, food parks, cafés, rest areas, etc., will be available.
The third floor will have a training hall and an OSRTC office.

The bus stand will cover 3.35 acres, accommodating 19 buses at rest and 18 buses in transit.
Each floor will have separate facilities including waiting areas and toilets for women, men, differently-abled, and third-gender individuals.
The design of the bus stand was presented by Gouranga Charan Jena, Project Manager, Odisha Housing Board, via slides, detailing the layout and facilities.
