Malkangiri March, 3:: As per the direction of District Collector and Principal Census Officer Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, a district-level review and training programme for Census–2027 was conducted at the Model Degree College in Malkangiri.
Presiding over the programme, Additional District MMarch, 3:agistrate (Revenue) Bedabar Pradhan advised officials to ensure the smooth and systematic completion of the first phase of the census, scheduled from April 16 to May 15. Prior to this, self-enumeration will be carried out from April 1 to April 15.
During the self-enumeration period, citizens can upload their details using the Census portal. Although the census in India is generally conducted every 10 years, this one is taking place after a gap of 15 years since 2011. Therefore, the Additional District Magistrate urged citizens to provide accurate and transparent information as responsible members of society.
Deputy Director of the State Census Directorate, Jayakrishna Bhoi, acted as the training officer and imparted necessary guidance to officials for the smooth conduct of the census. Staff members of the Census Directorate assisted in the training programme.
Various phases of the census process were discussed during the session. Emphasis was laid on the use of CMMS, digital platforms for data collection, data accuracy, and timely reporting. District-level officers, charge officers, and other concerned staff participated in the training and received essential guidelines to ensure the successful completion of the census work.
The district administration stated that all enumeration activities will be conducted in an accurate and transparent manner with the cooperation of the public. Deputy Census Officer Muna Turuk also extended support in organizing the training programme.
