16th Banajyotsna Book Festival and Cultural Fair Begins with Grandeur

Phulbani, March, 5:   The Sixteenth Book Festival and Cultural Fair organized by the district’s leading literary organization, Banajyotsna Sahitya Sansad, was inaugurated on Monday evening at the High School Ground in Phulbani.

The District Collector of Kandhamal, Beda Bhusan Pradeep, inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. On this occasion, he praised the organizers for their continuous efforts in promoting the Odia language and literature and in fostering interest in books among readers. He also assured that the district administration would make efforts to provide financial assistance to support the initiative.

The Chief Guest at the event was the District Chief Medical and Public Health Officer, Dr. Santosh Kumar Padhi. Among the distinguished guests were senior journalist and President of the Press Club Sunil Pattnaik, and the keynote speaker, President of the District Citizens’ Forum and senior journalist Dr. Arup Jena. The speakers highlighted the significant role played by Banajyotsna Sahitya Sansad in nurturing readership and successfully organizing the book festival continuously for the past sixteen years.

Editor Dak Kahun Charan Satpathy delivered the welcome address, while President Prashant Behera gave the introductory remarks. During the event, prizes, certificates, and trophies were awarded to winners of various competitions organized as part of the festival.

Musman Suar, Rupambika Tripathy, Pranati Tripathy, Shubhra Pattnaik, and Birajini Mahapatra, among others, extended their support in making the program successful.
