Kakatpur Mourns the Loss of Noted Social Worker and Retired Teacher

Kakatpur, March, 7: Noted social worker and retired ideal teacher Prasanna Kumar Swain of Olangar village under Kakatpur passed away at the age of 82.

After retiring from his teaching career, the late Swain remained associated with various organizations in the area and earned considerable appreciation for his contributions to social service. During his career, he taught at schools in Rasulpur and Bikash Nagar, guiding many students and educating them about discipline and values in human life.

At the time of his passing, his only son Lutu, daughter-in-law, and his widow were present beside him.

After the news of his death spread, several prominent personalities paid floral tributes to the deceased and expressed condolences to the bereaved family. Those who paid homage included senior Congress leader Amiya Pattnaik, educationist Sarat Chandra Biswal, District Youth Congress Secretary Soumya Kanu Khuntia, social worker Gyana Ranjan Sahu, Press Club Vice-President Tushar Ranjan Dixit, and Dhuren Chand, among others.

Later, his mortal remains were taken in a funeral procession and cremated at the village cremation ground. His death cast a shadow of grief over Kakatpur and nearby Asurang.
