Malkangiri, March, 11: Malkangiri MLA Narsingh Rasingh Madakami chaired a meeting of the MLA Election Committee Development Sub-Committee at the District Council Conference Hall. In the meeting, it was decided to select three villages from each of the three blocks—Malkangiri, Kalimela, and Podia—and transform them into model or ideal villages.
During the meeting, the MLA instructed all departmental officers that an immediate comprehensive survey should be conducted in the identified villages to assess the current development status, needs, and existing problems. Based on this assessment, a clear plan of action should be prepared, detailing what steps need to be taken to address the issues.
In this process, the group development officers of each block have been appointed as nodal officers. The MLA also reviewed the progress of ongoing development programs across all departments and issued strict instructions to expedite all works within the stipulated time frame.
Additionally, he directed that work at the famous Mallikeshwar Temple and Bhairavi Temple in Malkangiri should be started immediately. In preparation for the upcoming summer, all departments have also been instructed to identify villages likely to face water shortages.
Furthermore, the MLA instructed relevant departments to identify suitable land for making the Godavarish Mishra Ideal School program operational. Villagers will be consulted in discussions and meetings to finalize which villages will be adopted as model villages, and the MLA has issued directions to take a definitive decision on this.
Local residents have welcomed the MLA’s farsighted initiative and expressed broad support for the effort.
