Foundation Ritual Performed for Siripeta Jagannath Temple Construction

Malkangiri,March, 12: In Parakanmala Panchayat, Siripeta village, under Khairaput block of Malkangiri district, the Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking) ceremony for the new sanctum of the Jagannath Temple was held.

The ceremony was attended by eminent saints from Ganjam district including Mahant Brajabandhu Das Maharaj, Mahant Gourang Charan Das, Mahant Radhacharan Das, and Mahant Kamalaksha Das. Following traditional rituals, the groundbreaking for the new sanctum began with proper Vedic procedures.

In the morning, a grand Jal Kalash procession was held, in which 21 village women carried water-filled kalash (pots) on their heads from a nearby river and brought them to the temple premises. Acharya and chief priest Pramod Kumar Tripathi conducted the Vedic rites at the yajna altar. A stone slab was smeared with red vermilion, symbolizing the foundation of the new temple.

At 3:18 PM, Vedic mantras were recited as per scripture, completing the ceremony. The devotees’ enthusiasm was palpable, and the chants of “Shankhnad,” “Hulhuli,” and “Jai Jagannath” created a spiritual and divine atmosphere.

Also present were Mahant Brahmananda Das of Siripeta Dayana Kshetra, Swami Madhavananda Das (District Hindu Jagaran), Swami Vishwamitrananda Giri (Gau Raksha Mandal), Arjun Shastri (VHP regional propagator), chief cultivator Ranjit Das, Budura Madhi, Bideshi Praharaj, Ravana Rao (Jagannath Sanskriti District President), Rath Sevak G. Ranga Rao, and ISKCON’s Rathraj Gourang Das. The ceremony included Ashtaprahari Namayajna, Gau Raksha Yajna, and discourses following Vedic and Vaishnav traditions.
At the end, devotees enjoyed prasada and returned home with joy.

The event was organized by the Siripeta Dayana Kshetra Trust, led by Sanatan Madhi (Chairperson), Sambandha Madhi, Sahadev Sisa, Hari Madhi, Kamalu Madhi, Laikhan Pujari, Rameshwar Pujari, Bhagat Madhi, Padma Nayak, Ramchandra Madhi, Gopinath Bhumia, Shiv Prasad Swain, Shiv Bhumia, Basudev Kurbhadi, Samara Hantal, Bhagwan Sahu, Ganesh Prasad Das, Himanshu Shekhar Swain, and Jagabandhu Barik.

International Women’s Day Celebration at Rayagada

At Lions Club, Rayagada, the National Women’s Day was celebrated with grandeur by the International Human Rights Forum. Guests included Janmejay (State Editor, Our Adami Party), Shubhra Panda (Deputy Mayor, Rayagada Municipality), Bishwaraj Chhinchhani (National Deputy Editor, Human Rights Forum), Sushant Maharana (State Vice President), Dr. Archana Patnaik (Women’s College President), Gauri Pradhani (District President), and Swarna Manjari Pal (District Women President).
The program was managed by Nalini Pani and Ankita Padhi. Discussions were held on women empowerment, safety, and legal rights, highlighting women as the backbone of the nation. Strategies to address challenges faced by women were also discussed. At the end, Nalini Pani thanked all participants.
