Protest Against Price Rise: District Congress Lays Siege to Collectorate in Malkangiri

Malkangiri Mar, 20: Following the call given by Bhakta Charan Das, President of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee, a protest was staged against the rising prices and shortage of cooking gas in the country.
Under the leadership of the District Congress Committee President, hundreds of Congress leaders and workers took out a rally from the District Congress Bhavan and marched to the District Collector’s office, staging a gherao. They submitted a memorandum to the District Collector demanding steps to control the hike in cooking gas prices, prevent artificial scarcity, and stop black marketing.
Among those present during the protest were District Congress Vice-President Bhima Barse, Secretary Padma Pangi, senior Congress leader Smruti Ranjan, Kisan Cell President Dasharath Duruka, Municipal Council President Keshu Rao, Binayak Patra, SC Cell President Prana Krishna Mandal, Pushpa Kabasi, Irma Padiami, Muka Madkami, Arjun Padiami, Zilla Parishad member Krushna Chandra Anugu, Prabhakar Pal, and State Secretary of Chhatra Congress Santosh Pattnaik, along with several other party members.
